Entrance to house with simple door closer

Wheelchair users can close outward-opening doors by using a simple home-made door closer

Description
Outside the entrance door is a large wooden deck without any threshold. The door is fitted with a simple door closer. A string attached to a loop sits on the upper edge of the door, on the side that is opened. Next to it on the door frame is a loop through which the string runs. A wooden handle is attached to the string. The string hangs down and is long enough so that it can be reached with the hand when the door is open.

The string is an easier, more attractive door closer than a handle on the door. No need to stretch backward.
