According to the Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS), people with disabilities in Sweden are entitled to an oral health assessment and necessary dental care. To qualify, the elderly and people with disabilities must have a lasting and extensive need for medical and social services.
To obtain a certificate showing eligibility for oral health assessment and necessary dental care, contact the municipality's case manager. The county council's healthcare unit issues a certificate (plastic card) to individuals entitled to outreach oral health assessment and necessary dental care.
