User lying in wheelchair with leg rest attached
Start » Leg rest for electric wheelchair
Easily assembled leg rest, used to be able to sleep in electric wheelchair
Description
A fabric-covered metal frame is attached to the Permobil’s adapted attachment (see associated tip “Stand – the user’s ‘third hand’”). An assistant helps the user to attach the leg rest while the user sits in the wheelchair. The user can sleep in the wheelchair with a blanket and a cushion under his legs and head, and a wheat cushion under his neck.

This solution works very well when the user travels and wants to spend the night, such as when visiting his son. He sleeps well and avoids to transfer from the wheelchair. The assistant who helps to attach the leg rest first places the user’s feet and legs on a table, attaches the leg rest, and then lowers the user’s feet and legs onto the leg rest.
