Start » Peeling potatoes
Cutting off the edges of the potato first and using a Y-shaped peeler makes the task easier for a person with impaired hand function
Description
The user cuts off the edges of the potato to make it easier to hold the potato in place when he peels it. He uses a Y-shaped potato peeler.
Authors comments
The Y shape requires a different peeling technique than the one traditionally used. The wrist is held straight instead of twisting it. With this technique even individuals with tetraplegia can prepare a dish like potatoes au gratin.
