Technique for people with impaired balance and impaired arm/hand function
Description
Technique:
The user positions himself with the wheelchair at a 45-degree angle to the car and sets the brake on the wheelchair. He moves forward in the chair by leaning backward, while holding on to the door handle to avoid tipping over backwards. He places his right foot on the ground and moves forward to the left foot a little on the foot bar. He sits on the far right corner of the cushion, places one hand on the car seat and the other close to his left hip on the chair cushion and moves over, at the same time that he leans forward to the left. He lifts his legs into the car.
Authors comments
To get a better grip, he licks his hands before moving over.
