Independent transfer for paraplegics
Description
The user positions the wheelchair at a 45 degree angle to the motorcycle. He lifts up the foot closest to the motorcycle onto the motorcycle's foot pedal. He moves forward on the wheelchair and lifts himself onto the motorcycle by supporting himself with one hand on the motorcycle seat and the other on the wheelchair's frame in front of the outer frontwheel. He moves his hands to the motorcycle's handlebars and pulls himself the last bit so that he is sitting sideways on the saddle. He places the outer leg on the frame of the wheelchair, pulls apart the wheelchair and places it up on the motorcycle (see associated tip).
Then he twists so that he is sitting diagonally facing forward and lifts over one leg so he is sitting properly on the saddle. Then he places his feet onto the adapted foot holders. He attaches a hip belt with Velcro attachment on the motorcycle cushion, puts on his jacket and helmet and is ready to go.

Authors comments
With the foot holders and hip belt with Velcro closure the rider sits securely on the motorcycle, but is not stuck if anything should happen.
